Faye D. Cummings has been involved with NSBE since her freshman year at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where she completed her Bachelor’s in Computer Science with a minor in Human Relations, as well as a certificate in E-Business. Within NSBE Concordia, she has served as Chapter Secretary, Webmaster, President, and President Emeritus, and currently serves as the Concordia Chapter Advisor.

She has also served as the Region I Canada Zone Chair, Charter Membership Chair, Interim Programs Chair and Vice Chair, and is honored to be serving as your 2006-2007 Region I Alumni Extension Telecommunications Chair and Chair-elect.

Faye is currently working at Belron Canada in Montreal as an Optimization Analyst.

Noemie Duvivier graduated from McGill University with a bachelor in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Management. Since 2001, she has been involved on different levels of NSBE leadership, being the McGill University chapter Secretary, Vice-President and President. She also held positions on the Regional Executive Board as Canada Zone Chair and Regional International Committee Chairperson. She held the role of Regional Advisor for the Program Zone and Canada Zone on the REB for 2 years. She now holds the position of Regional Alumni Secretary. She can't wait to receive news and articles from the Region One alumni members!

Joel Lomnick is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), in Rochester, NY. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering in February 2005. Joel is a Project Engineer at M/E Engineering in Albany, NY. There he is responsible for the design and development of power systems, lighting, telecommunication, and fire protection for various community projects. Joel is in pursuit of his Professional Engineering License as he continues his growth in Engineering Consulting.

Joel's NSBE experience began in April 2000. Executive Board positions held at RIT include Academic Exellence chair (two terms), Corporate Relations Chair, Chapter Secretary and currently the Alumni Programs Chairperson (third term). Joel has attended the National Convention in Indianapolis (IN), Anaheim (CA), and Pittsburgh (PA), Columbus (OH) and Orlando (FL) as well as several zone and regional conferences.

Dayo Joseph is currently serving as the Region I Alumni Extension PCI Chair. Dayo has been a member of NSBE since January 1998, during her undergraduate studies at SUNY Binghamton. Her undergraduate degree is a Bachelor in Mathematics. Thanks to her love for math, the NSBE activity of most interest to Dayo is the Try Math A Lon competition. She has actively worked with the event for the past 5 years. She fell in love with the TMAL event in February 2001, and continues to enjoy working with the students as well as her chapter and national counterparts. Dayo is an Information Integration Solutions Consultant for IBM’s Software Group, and she looks forward to working with you this year.

Phillip Grant has been involved with NSBE since 2000. He served as the Region 1 Alumni Treasurer for the 2005 fiscal year. He currently serves as the Region 1 Alumni Treasurer for the 2006 fiscal year.

Phillip is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, class of 2001, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. After graduation, he worked for 1 ½ years as a Mechanical Engineer for Paragon Aquatics, designing pool equipment; he then worked for Pawling Corporation for 2 ½ years as a Construction Estimator. He is currently working for Soundbuild Inc. as a Project Engineer for various construction projects.

Ryon Farmer is the current Region One Alumni Extension Telecommunications Chairman. He is currently working as a Manufacturing Technician at The Princeton Technology Center (PTC) of Schlumberger located in Princeton Junction, NJ. Ryon is responsible for the manufacturing of Photo Multiplier Tubes (PMT) used in nuclear logging measurements.

Naphysah Duncan is employed at a Medical Device company as a Research Engineer. She was employed at Cooper Union previously as a project engineer for the Maurice Kanbar Center for Biomedical Engineering. Ms. Duncan received a Master’s in Biomedical Engineering from UMDNJ/The Graduate School at Rutgers University, during which time she was employed as an Adjunct Professor at Cooper Union. She also holds bachelor and masters degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Cooper Union. Naphysah has served as Corresponding Secretary, Membership Chair and President of the NYC Metro Chapter of NSBE – AE and continues to tutor in the chapter’s Pre-College Initiative Program.

On the Region I Alumni Board, she has held the positions of Parliamentarian and Secretary. Ms. Duncan, as well as being a member of the National Society of Black Engineers, is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the Society of Women Engineers, the United States Gymnastics Federation, and the Urban League New York Young Professionals. Naphysah is a recipient of the 2005 & 2006 NSBE Region I Alumni Leadership Award, and enjoys being a Rhythmic Gymnastics judge.

Kamona Ayres graduate of Northeastern University class of 2005 and 2003 with a Master in Engineering Management and a B.S in Mechanical Engineering Technology.

Kamona has been a NSBE member since her sophomore year of college, holding a few leadership positions both on the chapter and regional level. Her key leadership positions were Northeastern University’s BESS (Black Engineering Student Society) chapter president ‘02-‘03, and Region One Treasurer 04-05. Presently, Kamona is the ‘07-‘08 Regional PCI Chair/ TMAL Coordinator, working at National grid in New York.

Joining the National Society of Black Engineers in the summer of 2001, Princess has served in various leadership positions in NSBE: Northeastern University Chapter Programs Chair, Treasurer of the New England Zone Board Region One Publications Chair and New England Zone Chair, New England Alumni Extension Programs Chair and a Co-Editor of the Alumni Arsenal. Graduating with honors, Princess is a double-alumna of Northeastern University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business with concentration in Management Information Systems, a Master of Science in Information Systems and is a certified Project Management Professional.

Princess currently works at Raytheon Technical Services Company as Project lead for a Systems Engineering team, in addition she spearheading development of system CONOPS, data fusion, requirements generation, and data mining for strategic pursuits.

Richard R. Rodney graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in 2007 with a degree in Computer and Systems Engineering. He is currently an employee at Capital IQ working as a Database Administrator/Engineer (DBA). Richard has been a member of NSBE for the past 5 years, where he served as a member, the NSBE-RPI Telecommunications Chair from 2004-2006, the Region 1 T-Comm. Chair from 2006-2007, the Region 1 Alumni Extension and NSBE NYC “XL” T-Comm. from 2007-2008.

Richard has learn, gained and benefited a lot from his leadership experience in NSBE, so he decided its time to take it to another notch, he is now the 2008-2009 NSBE Region 1 Alumni Extension Chair Elect. With the rest of the Region 1 Alumni Extension Board, he plans to revitalize the alumni membership, bring backs its value, increase the interaction between Alumni, collegiate and PCI students, thus ensuring the longevity of the National Society of Black Engineers.

Angel Resto III will be graduating from Rochester Institute of Technology in May of 2008. I’ll receive my degree around August of 2008. I’m currently on the job hunt as of right now, but will continue to find the best companies to suit my professional needs.

Angel’s experience with NSBE began in September 2006 when a RIT student approach me about the organization I’ve became a member then later on the academic year I was a Senator. The next following year I became Academic Excellence Chair for the 2007-2008 RIT chapter. Angel has attended the National Convention in Columbus, Ohio and Orlando, Florida. I’m now on the alumni board and I’m looking for brighter things ahead of me.

Jennifer Thomas grew up in Miami, Fl. She graduated with a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Central Florida in of May 2006. At UCF she was President of SWE, Vice President of NSBE and an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Upon graduation, she moved to CT and accepted a position in the Engineering Rotation Program at Pratt & Whitney. She is currently finishing her last rotation and works as a Durability Engineer primarily for the F135 military engine which will power the Joint Strike Fighter. At Pratt & Whitney, Jennifer has also worked in Compression System Aerodynamics, Engine Systems Operability, and Test Engineering.

As an alumni member of NSBE, Jennifer is an active member of the Southern New England Association of Technical Professionals (SNEATP). She previously served as Membership Chair for SNEATP. Last year, Jennifer served as the Region 1 Alumni Parliamentarian. In her free time she loves dancing, traveling, volunteering and trying new restaurants.

Henry is currently working as a Systems Engineer for Avanade Inc in New York City. He received his Comp. Sci. degree from Hofstra University. Henry has been a member of The National Society of Black Engineers since 2001. His past NSBE leadership experiences include serving as a Region 1 FRC Planning Chair, Chapter President, and 2005 National Convention Planning Committee member as a Facilities and AV coordinator. In addition to these activities he also enjoys working with his Collegiate Chapter’s PCI members on their various projects and activities.

Chris Jelks earned his bachelors from the University of Cincinnati in Aerospace Engineering. He works at Pratt & Whitney as a Structures Engineer and has been with the company for 3 years. In his spare time he enjoys travelling, reading and astronomy.

Chris held a number of roles in NSBE during his undergrad years including Vice President & senator in his third year and President & senator for the next two years. As alumni, he has served as Vice-Chair, Chair and currently Chair-Emeritus.

Ledum was raised in Rivers State Nigeria, the 5th of seven siblings. Migrated to the United States in 1998 area where he worked his way through college. As a very active student at SUNY Buffalo (University at Buffalo), he completed his Bachelors of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering. He is currently working as a distribution engineer at National Grid.

Ledum Nordee is a hard working and very enthusiastic individual who enjoys meeting & working with people and very open to discussion on any issue. He With his vast experience in NSBE operations, Ledum looks forward to working with his entire region and the Regional Alumni Executive Board.

Gabriele McStanislav-Cudjoe is a member of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) since October, 1999. He has held several Chapter Executive Board positions ever since. As Membership and Programs Committee Chair during College in Ghana, Gabriele made sure members always had both their local and international ID cards on time, help to increase attendance at chapter meetings and during programs.

After graduation, he joined the Accra Alumni Extension (AAE) Chapter. As Alumni Chapter President, Gabriele carried out several NSBE initiatives with the chapter. He led the chapter to win the double your membership award and two times Batelle International Awards. Gabriele received the Region One Alumni Member of the year and A Special Award for his contributions towards NSBE development as President of AAE.

During his Presidency at AAE, NSBE-Ghana was created. Serving as the first Executive Secretary of the National Executive Council (NEC) of NSBE-Ghana Secretariat, Gabriele and his team brought all NSBE-Ghana chapters together under a single umbrella. He help to organize leadership training for all CEBs and assisted in growing NSBE-Ghana chapters. The PCIs received a lot of attention during this period. Before he resigned at NSBE-Ghana Secretariat to pursue further education, Gabriele was given Leadership Award by the NSBE World Headquarters. Currently, Gabriele serves as the NSBE-Ghana Special Ambassador. His role is to partner the NEC in Ghana in promoting NSBE-Ghana abroad. EDUCATION: Gabriele McStanislav-Cudjoe is a Bachelor of Science Geological Engineering graduate from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana.

Angelina is the Region 1 Alumni Conference Manager. I have been a member of NSBE since 1994, while attending Rutgers University serving as Secretary and then President over the years. I was always involved in membership activities and workshop planning. My dedication has only grown over the years.

More recently as President of Central Jersey Alumni Extension, I have been able to stretch my abilities to meet new goals, develop my confidence, and fine tune my skills. I am looking forward to even more exciting times as your conference manager and I hope we will learn from each other as we commit to excellence.

Wale Thomas earned his bachelors from the University of Bolton, England in Electronics & Computer Engineering. He currently works at QuEST as a Project Engineer and has been at the position for just under a year.

He previously held the parliamentarian position and now serving as webmaster. In his spare time he enjoys swimming, playing basketball and travelling.

Melissa Reeves is a Reliability Engineer for BAE Systems located in Lexington, Ma and originally from Miami, Florida. She received her Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Technological Entrepreneurship at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. As the 2008-2009 Region 1 Alumni Board Finance chair she serves as the liaison between corporate and Region 1 Alumni members. Melissa joined NSBE in the fall of 2003 and has been a dedicated member ever since. She has served on her Chapter Executive Board as Co-Pre-College Initiative Chair, Internal Vice-President, President, and last served as the Collegiate 2007-2008 Region 1 Finance Chair.
