Alumni and Technical Professional Membership

Eligibility

Professional membership is open to all professionals who hold a degree in engineering, computer science, math and the applied sciences. All others are invited to become affiliate members.

If you choose not to be affiliated with a chapter in your local area, you will be considered a "Member At-Large," classified by your geographical region. Members "At-Large" receive the same national benefits as those who belong to a chapter.

Please visit the Region I Alumni Extension Site for more information and a list of chapters in your area.

National Dues

Annual Alumni membership dues are $50, and may be paid directly to NSBE National Headquarters or to your chapter. Most chapters charge chapter dues (paid directly to the chapter), and these fees are in addition to the national dues.

Upon graduation, student members are strongly encouraged to continue their participation with NSBE and join the Alumni Extension of Technical Professionals. The membership dues are free to students who join within one year of graduation!

Benefits

- Subscription to NSBE Magazine sent directly to your address.

- Discount registration to all NSBE events including the Annual National Convention.

- Unlimited access to NSBE's job posting board.

- Access to post your resume(s) in the NSBE database, searched by over 500 corporations and universities.

Starting or Renewing a Chapter

A chapter’s charting status is granted annually to all NSBE Jr, Collegiate and Alumni Extension Chapters. In order to be officially recognized as a National Society of Black Engineers, execute programs and participate in member only scholarships and awards programs, chapters must be chartered. If a NSBE chapter does not exist in your city, on your campus, or in your school, you can petition to charter a chapter.
