Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

NSBE-AE has established Special Interest Groups (SIGs) to enable NSBE-AE to promote technical excellence among its members, provide technically oriented, positive benefit to the community, and to advance the state of the art in science, technology, and engineering. SIGs are involved in year-round technical actvities ranging from Hurricane Katrina relief, to community infrastructure planning, to Lunar spacecraft and base design. Membership is currently available in thirteen NSBE-AE SIGs. Alumni members and graduate students may join the SIG(s) of their choice via the NSBE Online links indicated below. A directory of SIGs Leadership, as well as the SIG Guidelines and a brochure are available from the downloads page.

Note: A pilot SIG is one in the process of being established. In order to complete the pilot process it must accumulate at least ten members; establish working rules (e.g. a constitution); and select officers including at least a director, a technology lead, a communications lead, and a financial lead.
